From Paper Source to Urban Outfitters to independent bookstores, 5-year journals seem to be everywhere right now -- I keep seeing them and squashing the impulse to buy one -- they're so damn cute! Finally, I decided to make my own.
The 5-year journals I've seen around tend to be small, but very thick. Most of them also seem like they'd be difficult to write in. So my hunch was that coptic binding would be a good fit, since this type of binding allows books to lay flat, which makes for easier writing.
For a first-time effort (and sixteen signatures!), I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out.
