A few months ago, I built the word "Spring" on a whim, taking advantage of some flowers that were sitting around on my desk and full-on wilting. I never got around to "Summer," but this weekend, I sat down and made "Autumn", using organic bits found around my tiny yard.
While the making of Spring was tricky (all those sticky little petals!) Autumn was its own challenge. It was as if the games of Jenga and Operation had a baby. Rule #1 of built typography: don't breathe. :)
For folks who enjoy seeing work-in-progress shots -- unlike the above photos, this one was shot in (quickly waning) natural light. It's amazing what a difference a lighting kit makes, no? As you can see, I ended up painting my template brown to match the table -- the white paper was simply showing through too much.
